Jersey barriers…. the lifelong friend. A sidewalk is reinforced with rebar and experiences the same abuse from weather as a concrete K-rail or traffic barrier. The wind, the rain, the ice, the snow, and don’t forget those penetrable UV rays; all take a toll on concrete’s solid formation. Over time you will find cracks, dirt buildup, and deterioration of barriers — even when they remain in the same place.
So how long do they last? As long as the concrete can hold it together. Handle them with care, but there’s no telling how long it will last.
